Hi everyone at Cahal Pech,
I just want to thank you for a great time in Belize.
You wer all so hospitable that we felt like we were
right at home. Out time in cahl Pech was the highlight
of the trip and we missed your warmth once we got
to San Pedro.
Miriam I wanted to thank you for setting
up such a great itinerary for us. Everyday was packed
with great activities and incredible things to see.

Lenny,
Just a quick note to thank you and your staff for another enjoyable
stay. Michael and Ellen went out of their way to make sure all of our
needs were taken care of and that our guests had a wonderful experience
in San Ignacio.
Thanks again.

Hi Ann
I told you I would write and let you know how
Cahal Pech Village Resort was on the second part of
our trip. We
highly recommend it - the cabanas are nice and clean,
the grounds are pretty, with a good view overlooking
San Ignacio, the restaurant is nice, the food is good,
and the people are very friendly and helpful. It's
owned by the Silva family and managed by a guy
named Lenny. I think the prices are reasonable,
too. Breakfasts are 10 Belize apiece, and that
includes eggs, sausage, beans, tortillas or fryjacks,
fruit, and coffee.
I think their packages are a good value. For
780 Belize apiece (1560 total) we got:
- three nights lodging at Cahal Pech (106
Belize per night for a double);
- shuttle from Belize City dock to Cahal Pech
and then from Cahal Pech back to the Belize City airport
- 300 Belize for both trips;
- 24 hour car rental for driving into Mountain
Pine Ridge preserve (four-wheel drive vehicle) - 150
Belize;
- overnight in Tikal which included everything -transportation
by shuttle both ways, Jungle Lodge for one night (very
good
accommodations), two days admission
to the park and all meals (2 lunches, 1 dinner, 1 breakfast) -
400 Belize apiece
You could probably do the trip cheaper on a budget
excursion, using the bus to and from San Ignacio from
Belize City, staying in downtown San Ignacio hotels
(very noisy) and taking the bus to Tikal, staying in
Flores for the night, but it wouldn't be nearly
as nice and convenient as what we got, and you wouldn't
have the mobility we had. The other eco-resorts in
the Cayo tend to be more expensive for lodging,
food and excursions, plus they are remote, so
you're kind of stuck there. We like to explore,
and from Cahal Pech we could walk into San
Ignacio (about a mile) and either walk back or take
a cab back up the hill. The only possible
drawback, which we did not experience, is that there
is a nightclub right next to the resort which may get
noisy on weekend nights, although it's supposed to
be soundproofed. We were there during the
week, and it was quiet, with only the sounds of San
Ignacio floating up the hill from the distance. The
resort also has free internet access for its guests. The
Cahal Pech ruin is right next door, and it's a very
nice, small ruin with a good museum.
So that's the scoop on Cahal Pech Village Resort. We
recommend it. Their e-mail address is cahalpech@btl.net.

Thanks again for making my time in Belize such a memorable
one. Should be
getting the rest of my photos back this week, so will be sure to drop some
copies in the post for your mum's memory book.
Please give my love to all the clan. Hope to hear from you soon,
love, hugs 'n' Loch Ness monsters, Laura

My husband and I had a amazing time and would highly
recommend Cahal Pech Village and Tours. They
really made us feel at home and welcome. Since
the hotel is on the highest point in town, the views
from our third floor balcony where absolutely beautiful. Another
bonus for the hotels location was the Cahal Pech ruins
which where right next to the hotel and made for a
nice quick tour. I would also highly recommend the
many tours that the hotel can arrange, they are very
individualized and informative. If you
are looking to enjoy a relaxing exotic getaway in a
small very friendly location with lots to do and see
then Cahal Pech Village is for you. We
plan on returning as soon as possible!"
